Christmas in September

Well, I did it again. I washed my sheets. I'd like to say it's a regular occurrence, but since my kids get so excited every time there's a pile of pillows and blankets on the floor, surely you realize how rarely it happens. So when it does, it's a Big Event. Today was a Big Event day. It started with the pile of pillows, which turned into a pile of snow, which turned into requests for hats and mitts, which turned into... Christmas!

We visited a "tree farm" to chop down the perfect tree.

We set up our little Christmas tree and decorated it.

Read the Christmas story...

... and acted it out with our Nativity set.

Snuggled with Cora...

... and hugged her head a few too many times. I just love this action shot!

And for lunch, Christmas trees!

Nothing like eating at the new picnic table by the light of the Christmas tree.

And the best part is that we got Christmas carols stuck in Micah's head! A morning well-spent, I'd say. What else do you do with a fourth cold, rainy day in a row?

By the way, I love that every SINGLE picture is blurry. I suppose it's a testament to our lives these days...
