Preschooler Policies
Me: OK, if you are under five and your first name sounds something like Henry, Thomas, or Cora, it's time for naps! Does that apply to anyone here? [Thomas and Cora have hands waving in the air] Henry, what about you?
Henry: You said under five. I'm five and a half.
Me: I meant five and under.
Henry: You didn't say that, Mom.
Me: Well, the policy has just been reviewed and updated and now it says six and under.
Henry: You can't change policies!
Me: Oh, yes, I can. It happens all the time. There's even a committee. They just voted and changed the wording. Six and under. Upstairs, young man.
Henry: Not fair...
That boy might have a future in the legal world...
