Another Cooking Mishap

I'd like to think my cooking skills have come a long way since those first barely-edible meals I made for my husband several years ago.  Still, there are nights...

Me:  Micah, do you mind checking on the rice while I read to Henry?
Micah:  Uh, it's not doing anything right now.
Me:  What?  I put it on twenty minutes ago!
Micah:  It helps if you set the pot on the same burner you turn on.

*Sigh.  Guess we'll be finding a quicker option to go with the chicken that has been cooking for twenty minutes...
