Snuggling with God
Thomas, at bedtime: Mommy, where is God? Can I snuggle with him? Is he out in the living room?
Me: Thomas, God is everywhere--
Thomas: Is he in my belly?
Me: Well...
Thomas: Is he outside?
Me: Yes, he is. He's in here, too. Right beside you.
Thomas: But where is the real God?
Me: He's right here. We just can't see him with our people eyes.
Henry: Yeah, Thomas, and he's big! Bigger than Daddy, bigger than Mommy, bigger than Goliath, bigger than even me! Bigger than you, bigger than...
Thomas: Oh. I just want to snuggle with him.
We seem to have our deepest theological discussion when our kids are on the brink of sleep...
