Color Coded

I've had a tendency to color code my kids.  Back when the boys were really little, it made it easier to tell their sippy cups and things apart.  Henry was always green, Thomas was always blue, and Cora is usually red.  Fast forward a couple of years, and Cora is working hard to learn her colors.  She knows many of them, especially purple, orange, and yellow.  She knows green and blue, too, but not by their given names.  Consistently lately, she points at green and says, "Henny's color."  Blue is "Tas' color."  I smile and correct her each time, then nod and say, "Yep, their colors."  Someday she'll learn that other people like green and blue too.  For now I kind of like her names for the colors best.
