Inevitable Beans
Tonight we had a bit of a busy evening, so I threw together a quick supper of bean salad and packed it for the road. It wasn't what anyone would call a "home run" dinner, but it was food.
Henry, Micah, and I ate it in the car while Cora had her ballet lesson. Thomas claimed he "wasn't really hungry." After her dance class, Cora ate hers, then we went on to the next event.
After the event we got into the car to drive home. Thomas cleared his throat from the back seat.
Thomas: I was, uh, thinking maybe I could get a snack when we get home. Because--you know--those beans you packed are probably bad by now.
Me: Actually, there's nothing in them that can go bad. That's why I packed them.
Thomas: Aw, poop.
