T-H-O...

Thomas is so fun to read with these days.  For one thing, he could read for hours.  Book after book.  I love it.  For another, he's just learning to unlock the world of letters.  Tonight before bed we read him Dr. Seuss's "ABC" book.  He recognized all but two of the letters, and even knew some words that used those letters or sounds.  But my favorite by far was his reaction every time we came to a letter that's in his name. "Hey!  That's in my name!  T-H-O-M-A-S.  Thomas!  Thomas!  He's the best!" and then he'd beam.  We taught him the little rhyme a few weeks ago to help him spell his name and he's completely latched onto it.  He's learned to spell his name and it's sparked an interest in letters in general.  We hear it hundreds of times a day, but we love it.  I can't wait to watch him discover the world of reading for himself.
