An Inch Early
The big discussion around here every time a kid reaches Cora's age is whether or not they're old enough to come out of a booster seat. Unfortunately for the kids (who are always desperate to be set free), their mama is a nurse and former car seat technician. If there's one thing I won't budge on, it's car seat law.
It was worst for Thomas. About a month before his birthday the year he would have come out of the seat, the state law was changed and the minimum height requirement was increased. It was a full year before he grew enough to meet the specifications to ditch the booster.
Now Cora is in the throes of campaigning to ride booster-free. The other day, after a lengthy discussion and every argument she could think of, she finally threw her hands up in exasperation and said (in typical Cora style), "Can't I please just come out of the booster an inch early!?"
