Bunkbed Longevity
The boys moved to bunk beds when we moved to our new house. They'd had a lofted bed in our apartment, and since Henry was the oldest (and Thomas had been to little), he had been on top. Now that Thomas is older, though, it became a point of contention. We finally settled the argument by telling the boys they could each have the bed until the next birthday (since their birthdays are six months apart). Thomas will be on top until Henry's birthday in December, and then Henry will be on top until Thomas' birthday in June.
Today one of "our guys" from our RD days came to visit. The boys were showing him around the house when they got to their room. They told our friend that Thomas gets the top bunk right now. Micah asked, "How long does Thomas get to stay there, Henry?"
"Well, Thomas gets to have the top bunk until forever, or at least until he dies."
Not what I expected to hear... To be fair, we lost two goldfish this week. Death is on their minds, I guess...
