Straight Up
Thomas: Do you think we could go to McDonalds next week on my night to stay up?
Me: Probably not.
Thomas: So that's a maybe?
Me: That's a probably not.
Thomas: But you're saying it's a maybe? Like, it could be a yes?
Me: Thomas, would you like me to just give you a straight up no, so it's not confusing? Would you rather that than the suspense? Because I'm telling you, it's most likely a "no." Do you just want me to give you a straight up no and make it easier?
Thomas: No. I want you to give me a straight up yes.
