Cora Grows Up

Cora and Micah went to the school's PTA rollerskating party tonight. It was her first time on wheels, and she was both nervous and excited. Micah sent me a picture partway through the night, and she was beaming. She had so much fun, that she wanted to call and tell us all about it on the ten minute ride home. The boys and I crowded around and listened to her on speakerphone. Henry and Thomas were full of praise, and she was full of stories of how amazing she'd been on skates, including the few minutes she had attempted to skate without holding onto anything. Partway through the conversation, Henry said, "Wow, Cora, you sound really grown up on the phone!"

Without a second's hesitation, she said, "Well, Henry, that's because I skated without holding onto the bar tonight."
